Refugee Systems of Care

(pronounced “our sock” — like the cozy kind that never disappears in the dryer)

The Refugee Systems of Care (RSoC) project helps build stronger support systems for home visiting programs that serve refugee and newcomer families with young children.

We don’t provide direct services to families. Instead, we work behind the scenes to help home visiting programs feel more prepared, better connected, and equipped to meet families’ needs with care that’s culturally and linguistically thoughtful.

Our Goals

  • Help more refugee families connect with home visiting services
  • Support programs in providing high-quality, culturally responsive care
  • Strengthen partnerships between home visiting programs and refugee-serving organizations

Whether you’re navigating a challenging conversation, adapting your approach for a new family, or simply longing for more connection in this work, RSoC is here to walk alongside you, offering support, shared learning, and a community that understands the unique role home visiting plays in the lives of refugee and newcomer families.

RSoC Visioning 2025

Project Support Areas:

Need training or support for your team?
We offer trainings designed specifically for home visiting programs that support refugee and newcomer families. But our support doesn’t stop there, we also provide personalized coaching, both one-on-one and in small groups, to help you navigate challenges, adapt to changing needs, and strengthen your services with confidence.

Need resources that actually work for refugee and newcomer families?
We offer a growing collection of resources for both home visitors and the families they serve from quick handouts to trusted websites. Many of these materials are available in multiple languages. Whether you’re looking for something to share during a visit or something to strengthen your own practice, we’ve got tools to support your work.

Looking to learn from others doing similar work?
We bring programs together through communities of practice, peer learning, and cross-system collaboration with refugee service organizations. We create space for home visiting teams to connect, share, and build stronger partnerships.
